THE APPARATUS

SpyGov reads the public record of US city and county governments — agendas, meeting packets, minutes, votes — across 2,600+ jurisdictions, summarizes it by machine, and presents it as what it is: surveillance of government, by the governed. Every document was published by the government it describes. Nothing here is leaked, scraped from private systems, or obtained by request. It was public the whole time.

PROVENANCE

Source documents come from each jurisdiction's own agenda systems and are linked from every surface that cites them. Summaries are machine-generated from those packets and marked AI-SUM wherever they appear. The code is open under AGPL-3.0 at github.com/engagic/spygov.

PRIVACY

We watch governments, not you. Telemetry is first-party only — events go to our own API and nowhere else. No third-party trackers, no ad pixels, no analytics resellers. Your watchlist and preferences live in your browser's local storage, not on our servers. An email address is collected only if you enroll for dispatches; it is used for those dispatches, never sold or shared, and every dispatch carries an unsubscribe that works (CAN-SPAM). Diagnostic logs stay on your device.

CONTACT

Faults, corrections, and coverage requests: the incident ledger.

FUNDING

SPYGOV is open infrastructure without a paywall or advertisers. If it is useful, fund the watch.
